Fluffer automatically checks for firmware updates for your connected devices and applies them over Bluetooth (OTA — over the air). You do not need to connect your device to a computer.
When you connect a device that has a firmware update available, Fluffer detects the new firmware automatically. An update notification appears on the Devices tab.
To install the update:
Tap the update notification on the Devices tab
Keep your device and phone close together (within 1 meter / 3 feet) during the update
Do not disconnect or power off the device while the update is in progress
The update downloads and installs over Bluetooth — typical update time is 30–120 seconds
The device restarts automatically when the update is complete
A progress bar shows the update progress. The device may disconnect briefly at the end as it restarts and applies the firmware. Fluffer reconnects automatically after the restart.
If an update does not complete:
Do not power off the device
Keep the device in Bluetooth range and try again — tap the update prompt on the Devices tab to restart the process
If the update continues to fail, move your phone and device to a location with less Bluetooth interference (away from Wi-Fi routers and other BLE devices)
Firmware updates are optional but recommended. Updates typically include performance improvements, bug fixes, and new feature support. If you skip an update, Fluffer will prompt you again the next time you connect that device.
A failed firmware update does not damage the device. The device retains its previous firmware and continues to function normally.
